Our penny loafer was created with two things in mind: versatility and comfort. It's the ultimate shoe for travel, given the ability to be paired with a sport coat or t-shirt and almost anything in between. We find ourselves wearing this shoe year-round—sockless with shorts/lightweight fabrics in the summer and with wool socks and denim through the winter.
Combining a forgiving upper leather and soft insole/outsole tannage, the Traveler Penny strikes the perfect balance of structure and support.
Creasing and color variation are to be expected on these natural, aniline leathers. Each pair will develop differently as each hide is unique.

Every pair crafted in our factory on Xiamen Island, China
The Alexander last runs a half-size large. Our customers typically take our Alexander-lasted footwear a half-size down from their average sneakers size or the same size as their other Goodyear-welted footwear. However, some of our customers with low-volume feet or instep wear a full-size down.

Since some of you are good detectives (check my story feed), let me reveal this one first. grantstone recently launched a line of loafers in various suede and chromexcel colors and offered to let me check out a pair, knowing I’m such a loafer fan. After some chatting about sizing they advised that I take a half size down from my Oliver last cap toe oxford. That advice was spot on from my quick try on, they were snug but not uncomfortable. The chromexcel leather will give and it will be a perfect fit, I have no doubt. Shown here on the Dune chromexcel color.
